Miku by Mauryan AI

Terms of Service

Effective date: 12 August 2026  ·  Last updated: 12 August 2026  ·  Version: 1.0

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Mauryan AI (“Miku”, “we”, “us”, “our”), based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. They govern your use of the Miku mobile application, the website at mauryan.ai, and all related features and content (together, the “Service”).

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The short version

  • Miku is a study aid for Classes 8–12. It is not a substitute for your school, your teacher or your textbook.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms and supervise your use.
  • Miku is currently free to use for personal study.
  • Our content is AI-assisted and may contain mistakes. Always check important answers against your textbook or teacher.
  • Miku is not affiliated with NCERT, CBSE or any examination authority, and we do not guarantee any exam result.

This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms below are what apply.

1. Who may use Miku

Miku is built for students of Classes 8–12 following the NCERT syllabus.

If the student is under 18

A person under 18 years of age may use Miku only with the involvement of a parent or lawful guardian. By creating or permitting the creation of an account for a person under 18, the parent or lawful guardian:

  • accepts these Terms on the student’s behalf and on their own behalf;
  • consents to the processing of the student’s personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy; and
  • agrees to supervise the student’s use of the Service.

The Parent Declaration explains this in plain language, and is linked from the sign-up screen where consent is given.

By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that a parent or lawful guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You also confirm that you are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law, and that any information you give us is true and belongs to you.

Schools, coaching institutes and teachers may use Miku to support their students, but may not resell it, charge for access to it, or present it as their own product without our written permission.

2. Your account

Miku does not use passwords. An account is created and later recognised using the combination of school name, full name and date of birth. Our server issues you a username automatically.

You agree to:

You may delete your account at any time using Delete account on the Profile screen, directly above Log out, or by emailing jaibakshi@mauryan.ai. Deletion is permanent: your progress, streaks and history cannot be restored afterwards, and creating an account again with the same details produces a new, empty account. See our Account & Data Deletion page for the full process.

3. Licence to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use the Miku app on a device you own or control, and to access the learning content in it, for your own private study only.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us and our licensors. This licence does not give you ownership of the Service or its content.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may investigate suspected breaches and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, limiting features, or suspending or terminating an account.

5. Educational disclaimer

Miku is a study aid, not an authority. It does not replace your school, your teacher, your prescribed textbook, or official material published by NCERT, CBSE, or any state board or examination authority.

Miku is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by NCERT, CBSE, any state education board, or any government body or examination authority. References to the NCERT syllabus, chapter names, class names and subject names are made only to describe which curriculum our content is aligned to. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

We do not promise or guarantee any particular academic outcome, examination result, score, rank, or improvement in performance. Your results depend on many factors outside our control.

Where our content covers a topic that may involve safety — for example, a science experiment — it is provided for study purposes only, and you should follow your school’s instructions and supervision requirements.

6. AI-assisted content

Miku’s study cards, mindmaps, hints, worked solutions and doubt answers are prepared with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools and are reviewed by us before publication.

Even with review, AI-assisted content can contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or explanations that do not match the method your teacher expects. You should:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on AI-assisted content.

7. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, user interface, brand names, logos, and the study cards, mindmaps, questions, hints, solutions, illustrations and other learning material we publish — is owned by Mauryan AI or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

Curriculum names, chapter titles, and any third-party material referenced in the Service remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and educational reference only.

You may take reasonable personal notes and screenshots for your own private study. You may not reproduce or share our content publicly, in a coaching class, in a paid product, or on any platform, without our prior written permission.

8. Content you submit

The Service lets you submit limited content: bug reports, feedback, and optional screenshots or log files.

You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, store, reproduce, modify and act on that content for the purposes of operating, supporting and improving the Service. If you send us a suggestion or idea, we may use it without any obligation to you.

You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. Please do not include another person’s personal information, or anything confidential, in a bug report or screenshot.

9. Availability, updates and changes

We work to keep Miku available, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free or secure. The Service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or events outside our control.

We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces the Service for you, we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email where practical.

Required updates. Some updates fix security or compatibility problems. We may require you to install the latest version of the app in order to continue using the Service, and older versions may stop working.

Beta features. We may offer features marked as beta, preview or experimental. These are provided “as is”, may be unstable or incomplete, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and are excluded from any commitment about availability or accuracy.

10. Fees

Miku is currently free to use. We do not collect payment card or bank details, and there are no in-app purchases or subscriptions at this time.

We may introduce paid plans or paid features in the future. If we do, we will publish the prices and terms clearly, and no charge will ever be made without your (or your parent’s or guardian’s) express prior consent. Features you use for free today may become part of a paid plan in the future, with reasonable prior notice.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It forms part of these Terms. Please read it, especially the section on children, parents and consent.

12. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers for functions such as app distribution, push notifications, content delivery, crash reporting and analytics. It may also contain links to third-party websites.

Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of the app through Google Play or the Apple App Store is additionally subject to that store’s terms.

13. Suspension and termination

By you. You may stop using the Service at any time, and may have your account deleted as described in section 2.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, that your use harms other users or the Service, or that we must do so to comply with the law. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

We may also discontinue the Service as a whole, in which case we will give reasonable advance notice through the app or the website.

On termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive — including Intellectual property, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnity and Governing law and jurisdiction — survive termination.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content in it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. We specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be available without interruption, that its content is accurate, complete or current, or that defects will be corrected.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under applicable consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mauryan AI and its founders, employees, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, academic opportunity or examination outcome, arising out of or connected with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or connected with these Terms or the Service, for all claims taken together, will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees). Because the Service is currently free, this limit will normally be ₹1,000.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mauryan AI and its founders, employees and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, your infringement of any third party’s rights, or content you submit through the Service. If you are a parent or guardian accepting these Terms on behalf of a student, this obligation applies to you in respect of that student’s use.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops or as the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice — normally in the app — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

The courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh, India will have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we submit to that jurisdiction. Nothing in this section removes any right you may have under applicable consumer law to bring proceedings in the place where you reside.

Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you first contact us at jaibakshi@mauryan.ai so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.
